Dr Christo Bester
Dr. Bester is Head of Implant Innovation and Biobank Lead at the Ear Science Institute Australia, where he directs the development of novel hearing technologies and low-power digital hearing solutions. He holds a PhD in auditory neuroscience from the University of Western Australia (2016), with research focused on neurophysiological mechanisms underlying auditory processing and cochlear implant function. Dr. Bester has served as principal investigator for international clinical trials examining insertional trauma and new biomarker development in cochlear implants. His research integrates neurobiological mechanisms of hearing with technical development of auditory prosthetic devices, employing novel objective measures to address unmet clinical needs.
