Helen Appleton is the National Director of Student and Psychological Services at Giant Steps Australia. She completed her undergraduate studies in psychology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Psychology at Sydney University. Helen’s work focuses on mental health, complex support needs, engagement and behaviour support, extended family support, interagency training and liaising. She has created a school wide Siblings Support Program and is currently the Director of the Diagnostic and Assessment Centre and Co-Director of the Rob Llewelyn-Jones Clinical Centre, an onsite mental health clinic at Giant Steps Sydney. Helen is currently completing her PhD in ASD and Anxiety under the supervision of Professor Jacqui Roberts at Griffith University.
