julia sarant

Dr Julia Sarant is an Associate Professor in Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences at The University of Melbourne. She has been conducting clinical research with adults and children with hearing loss for over 25 years. Hearing loss has been identified as a modifiable risk factor for dementia in older adults. Julia's research program is exploring the relationship between hearing loss and cognitive decline in older adults with hearing loss, and whether cognitive decline can be delayed for people who use either cochlear implants or hearing aids. Julia is also conducting research on co-morbidities of hearing loss in adults and developmental outcomes for children with hearing loss.
