I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Cognitive Science at Macquarie University and a Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar in a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. I have a PhD in experimental psychology (cognition and emotional health) from the University of Newcastle and a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from Macquarie University. My research interests span disciplinary boundaries but I am broadly interested in modifiable lifestyle risk factors for dementia and ultimately aim to develop new and innovative interventions that foster healthy ageing. Recently I have focussed my efforts on understanding the associations between hearing loss and increased risk of cognitive decline and dementia in older adults. I work with a range of expert collaborators across diverse fields of expertise, and utilise a diverse range of research methods from epidemiology to experimental psychology to develop novel research questions that I hope will ultimately provide new insights for clinical practice.
