Where and when will this conference be held?

This is a virtual conference that you will be able to access from home. We recommend you use a computer or laptop to access the conference.

The conference will be held between 1–30 September 2020. A full list of the conference sessions, workshops and networking functions can be viewed on the conference program.

Presentations will differ in length and will be in the format of either live and recorded lectures, workshops, and panel sessions. Workshops that are on offer throughout the program will have limited space available to enable an interactive experience. If a workshop books out, you will be added to a waiting list and advised if a spot becomes available for you to attend.

What if I can't join a live presentation?

A recording of the live presentation will be made available within 24 hours of the live presentation end time, and this recording will be made available until 11:59pm AEST on Saturday 31 October 2020

Please note, workshops will not be recorded unless otherwise specified on the program.

What sessions/workshops can I attend?

The majority of sessions/workshops are available to all participants; however, a handful of workshops are limited to selected registration types:

Thursday 10 September: Are COSI Goals still relevant in 2020? - open to all InspirED 2020 delegates

Thursday 10 September: Mock interviews and resume writing - open to Second Year Audiology Students and Newly Graduated delegates

Tuesday 22 September: Supporting clients with severe hearing loss - when hearing aids are no longer enough - open to all InspirED 2020 delegates

Thursday 24 September: Best practice in clinical record-keeping - open to all InspirED 2020 delegates

Friday 25 September: ConnectED: An evening of connection and mentorship - open to Intern and Early Career Audiologist delegates

Monday 28 September: Enhancing your potential: dealing with the elephant in the room - open to Student, Intern, Newly Graduated and Early Career Audiologist delegates

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. 

How do I access this conference?

Once you register for the conference, you will be sent online access details for the InspirED 2020 Portal. The portal will be where you can access live presentations, recordings of live presentations and associated assessments.

Workshop information will be sent through with instructions on how to join these sessions separately.

What technology do I require to participate in this online conference?

You will need to have access to the internet to participate in this conference. 

If you have access to a computer or laptop, it is recommended that you use these devices to enhance your virtual conference experience.

Once you register, you will be sent further information about what you will need to do to access the online conference sessions.

You will need to use Google Chrome as your internet browser for the InspirED 2020 Portal. You will also need to have access to Zoom.

Internet tips and tricks

We will be working with speakers to ensure we can provide the best online outcome for participants; however, unfortunately we are unable to control your internet.

If you are having issues with your internet connection while using the InspirED 2020 Portal, please try the following:

  • Make sure you are using Google Chrome
  • Close down other internet pages you have open
  • Make sure other members of your household are not streaming during presentations

What time zone is the conference being held in?

The times of live presentations will be clearly outlined on the program, detailing the time for all states in Australia. The recorded presentations can be accessed anytime during the conference.

ACST =  NT / SA / Yancowinna County time

AEST = ACT / NSW (except Yancowinna County) / QLD / TAS / VIC time

AWST = WA time

The InspirED 2020 Portal will be updated to the time zone you choose upon login.

How do I access recorded presentations?

Once you register for the conference, you will be sent online access details for the InspirED 2020 Portal. The portal will be where you can access recordings of live presentations and associated assessments.

How can I ask questions during this conference?

If the presentations are live, there will be time allocated for Q&A. Please email any unanswered content-related questions to events@audiology.asn.au.

If the presentation is recorded, content-related questions can be sent through to events@audiology.asn.au.

What if I miss out on a spot to attend a workshop?

The workshops have a limited space available to enable an interactive experience. If a workshop books out, you will be added to a waitlist and advised if a space becomes available for you to attend.

I am an AudA member, can I use my online learning vouchers for InspirED 2020? 

Please note, you will not be able to use your vouchers for this online conference.

If I am a CPD Advantage subscriber, do I have access to this conference?

CPD Points

I am an Audiology Australia student member, do I need to obtain CPD points?

AudA student members do not need to obtain CPD points.

I am an Audiology Australia intern member, do I need to obtain CPD points?

AudA intern members do not need to obtain CPD points. If you are completing your internship within the July 2020 - June 2021 cycle, you can request a certificate of attendance to submit towards your CPD points once you have completed your internship. The certificate of attendance will be a single document that outlines all sessions you have successfully completed assessments for.

How many CPD Points can I obtain for this conference?

CPD Points are calculated on the basis of 1 point per hour.

The number of CPD Points you earn is based on the number of presentations you complete and on completion of relevant assessments including quizzes and reflective statements. 

What do I need to do to obtain my CPD Points?

To obtain CPD Points, you are required to do the following:

1. Engage in a minimum of 75% of each session you are viewing

2. Complete relevant assessments, including reflections and quizzes, by 11:59pm (AEST time) on Saturday 31 October 2020. Where a quiz is the assessment, you must complete the quiz with a 75% pass rate.

Please note, no extensions or exceptions are permitted if you are unable to complete the relevant assessments within this time frame.

Do I need to watch all presentations to obtain my CPD Points?

No, you do not need to watch all presentations to receive CPD Points. You will just need to watch and complete the relevant assessments for the presentations you would like to obtain points for.

I've watched a live presentation, how do I find the associated assessment?

You will need to log on to the InspirED 2020 Portal with your access details to find the associated assessment once you have watched a live presentation - assessments for live presentations will not be emailed to you. Further information on accessing these assessments will be sent to you with your InspirED 2020 Portal login details.

If you attend any workshops, assessments will be emailed to you once the workshop has concluded.

I've watched a recorded presentation on the InspirED 2020 Portal, how do I find the associated assessment?

Assessments for recorded presentations will be located in the InspirED 2020 Portal. Further information on accessing these assessments will be sent to you with your portal login details.

When will my CPD Points appear in my CPD Diary?

CPD Points will be uploaded into your diary by Monday 30 November 2020.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance if I am not an Audiology Australia Member?

If you are a Non-Member, you will receive a certificate of attendance to be provided by the end of November 2020. The certificate of attendance will be a single document that outlines all sessions you have successfully completed assessments for.
