During the first 20 years in audiology Glenn worked in a variety of roles in NSW and WA including paediatric and adult rehabilitation, audiology program management and indigenous ear health. After this stint in “normal” clinical audiology, Glenn established The Hearing Company in Perth. The business specialises in supporting organisations to measure and manage hearing loss in the workplace.

While most audiology clients are individuals with hearing issues, many of The Hearing Company’s clients are organisations: including multi-national resource companies, defence, government and medical practices.

Glenn’s title is Principal Occupational Audiologist. His day job consists of providing audiometry training, testing equipment and consulting services to high-noise industries around Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

While the occupational audiology subspecialty doesn’t attract much attention in Australia, Glenn finds this a fascinating area in which to work. His career choice has provided unimagined variety, flexibility, international travel as well as the opportunity to contribute expertise to organisations with a ‘noise problem’.
