CLARE COMBEY

Clare is the current Chairperson of the Tasmanian Chapter of AudA, has over 16 years of experience working with Hearing Australia, and has enjoyed supervising and supporting numerous clinicians in their early careers over this time. She has completed an Associate Degree in Dementia Care through the University of Tasmania in 2018, and is working towards improving communication outcomes for people living with dementia by developing better audiological care practices. One area of this is raising the awareness of the benefits of audiological care in health care prevention strategies and improving quality of life, both in the healthcare sector at large and the general community through numerous conference presentations, podcast and radio appearances, and working closely with Utas and the Wicking Centre ISLAND Project (a Tasmania-wide project to reduce the risk of developing Dementia). She is currently also a Committee member of AAG Tasmanian chapter, with creating professional relationships and knowledge sharing in the area of Gerontology, an aim going forward.
