Dr de Alwis is an ENT Surgeon specialising in neurotology. She established the first adult private hearing implant program in Victoria, which offers clients the choice of any implant available on the market. She is the only surgeon in Victoria with dual advanced endoscopic and open ear surgery skills for complex conditions such as Cholesteatoma but also Vestibular Schwannoma. Dr de Alwis divides her time working in the public sector at Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Alfred Health and Ballarat Health and running a busy private practice in East Melbourne and Ballarat. She enjoys teaching and plays an active role in training the next generation of ENT surgeons. She is an editor of the ENT chapter in Textbook of Emergency Medicine - a reference text used by the majority of Emergency doctors in Australia. Most of all though, she loves being a mother of two little women who teach her something new each day.
